The fasp 2.2 release includes through Aspera Console. In addition, a new patent-pending disk rate control extends Aspera's adaptive rate control to provide congestion avoidance and high bandwidth utilization for transfers over fast networks exceeding the available storage bandwidth. New platform support for Windows 2008 Server and new Aspera Connect Server and SDK capabilities for web-based applications round up this feature-rich update.

fasp™ 2.2 Update Details
1. New server configuration system
Provides enforcement of server transfer policies via automatic negotiation with clients. Server policies are configurable server-wide and per individual users and groups, and are automatically applied to the client transfer, including:
- Bandwidth policies – target and mininum rate caps, transfer policy, and maximum transfer priority
- Encryption policies – transport and content encryption requirements
- Authorization criteria – user docroots now configurable by group, including Active Directory groups
- Aggregate bandwidth control through Aspera VLink technology – now configurable by group, with default and maximum bandwidth priority by user
- Advanced file handling capabilities – transfer manifest, exclude filters and full-job ETA reporting
2. Central management capabilities supporting Aspera Console
fasp 2.2 enables advanced management capabilities through Aspera Console – Aspera's network-wide management, monitoring and control interface:
- Remote configuration of Aspera Enterprise Server and Point-to-Point nodes
- Server to server transfer capability with docroot support
- Job-based reporting and email notification available for Hot Folder transfers – file sets dropped into a hot folder are grouped as one job, with unified reporting and email notification
- Automatic reconnection of nodes to Aspera Console on failure
3. Disk-based rate control technology
A patent-pending innovation that extends Aspera's adaptive rate control to further optimize transfer throughput:
- Provides congestion avoidance for transfers over fast networks exceeding the storage bandwidth
- Prevents overdrive of relatively slower storage or file systems
- Maintains stable, high throughput for single and concurrent transfers
4. New capabilities supporting web-based applications
- Token authorization for HTTP fallback and external authorization can now be used concurrently on the same server
- JavaScript APIs for Aspera Connect enable folder uploads on Windows Vista and Linux and encryption at rest on all platforms
- New file browser in Aspera Connect fully supports resume of directory downloads
- Aspera Connect Server now supports transfers with multiple distributed servers from a single interface
5. Windows 2008 Server Support
