• Leading Oil & Gas Information Provider — This leading international geophysical company delivering a wide range of technologies, services and equipment caters for a broad base of customers mainly throughout the global oil and gas industry. With several large datacenters worldwide — Calgary, outside London, Singapore, Houston — this provider picked Houston as their main global seismic data processing facility. Before the implementation of Aspera software, data sets were originally transferred to tape then to disk storage subsystems. Getting data from Singapore to Houston took 5 days, regardless of the volume of data. Time being a critical element, WAN connection between centers was upgraded to 100 Mbps, but FTP soon proved slow and unreliable.
