Aspera on demand
Aspera On Demand (AOD) is a full set of Aspera’s high-performance server software for deployment on cloud infrastructure. It enables organizations to use the cloud for big data applications such as video ingest, processing and distribution, sharing and collaboration, scientific research, or big data analysis - applications that require the movement of gigabytes, terabytes or petabytes of data in, out and across the cloud.
Built on top of Aspera’s FASP®, AOD features all standard Aspera characteristics such as maximum speed, enterprise-grade security, a variety of client options (desktop, web, mobile, embedded), and applications for ingest, sharing, collaboration and exchange of large files and data sets.
AOD also includes Aspera's unique Direct-to-Cloud capability, which tightly integrates FASP transfers with the native APIs of cloud-based object storage, enabling users to securely move their data directly into cloud at line-speed from any Aspera client over long-haul wide area networks.

FAST UPLOADS OF VERY LARGE FILES AND DATA SETS TO THE CLOUD
The cloud offers many benefits, but moving your big data to the cloud can be challenging. Traditional transfer software technologies are slow and unreliable, and shipping physical disk is time consuming, expensive and exposes your data to unnecessary security risks.
Aspera On Demand is the ideal solutions for high speed, large volume, secure data ingest directly to the cloud. Using an Aspera Desktop client, or the Aspera Connect browser plug-in, users can transfer files at maximum speed directly to scale-out cloud object storage such as AWS S3, SoftLayer Swift, Azure Blob, and Google Cloud Storage. Aspera has developed a high-speed software bridge which directly integrates with the underlying object storage APIs providing maximum speed, security, and a rich set of transfer management features.
LARGE DATA COLLECTION, SHARING AND DISTRIBUTION
Aspera Shares On Demand (SHOD) with easy file sharing, or Aspera faspex On Demand (FOD) with person-to-person delivery and exchange, provide natural solutions for big data collaboration in the cloud. Whether you are collaborating with individuals or in groups, occasionally or frequently, Aspera On Demand provides the transfer and notification features to solve your needs. Both packages come with web based user management, access control, notification options and storage configuration.
Aspera Application Platform On Demand (APOD) is the solution for any 3rd party SaaS providers who need to add high-speed transfers to their cloud-based solutions. APOD can be easily embedded in the SaaS solution with its rich set of APIs, and the Aspera Connect plug-in can fully integrate into the browser application for a rich and fully-immersed end user experience. APOD provides the required software and licensing to support an integration. A separately licensed SDK (Developer Subscription) is required to access the documentation, libraries, sample code and developer support.

Performance at any distance
Maximum speed single stream transfer, independent of round-trip delay and packet loss (500ms / 30% packet loss+), up to the I/O limits of the platform.
Large file sizes
Support for files and directory sizes in a single transfer session up to the largest object size supported by the particular platform at a default 64 MB multipart chunk size.
Large directories of small files
Support transfers of directories containing any number of individual files at high speed, even for very large numbers of very small files (100 Mbps transfers over WAN for file sets of 1-10KB in size).
Adaptive bandwidth control
Network and disk based congestion control providing automatic adaptation of transmission speed to available network bandwidth and available I/O throughput to/from storage platform, to avoid congestion and overdrive.
Automatic retry and checkpoint resume of any transfer (single files and directories) from point of interruption.
Built-in encryption and encryption at rest
Built in over-the- wire encryption and encryption-at-rest (AES 128).
Secure authentication and access control
Built in support for authenticated Aspera docroots implemented using private cloud credentials. Support for configurable read, write, and listing access per user account. Support for platform-specific role based access control including Amazon IAMS and Microsoft Secure SaaS URLs.
Seamless, full featured HTTP fallback
Seamless fallback to HTTP(s) in restricted network environments with full support for encryption, encryption-at-rest and automatic retry and resume.
Concurrent transfer support
Concurrent transfer support scaling up to ~50 concurrent transfers per VM instance on the environment. (Cloud storage platforms vary in their ability to support concurrent sessions depending on the maturity of the platform and the capacity of the particular VM host-to-cloud file system architecture).
Preservation of file attributes
For ES version 3.5 and higher, transfers can be configured to preserve file creation, modification times.
Complete interoperability with Aspera Clients
Fully interoperable transfer support with all core Aspera products acting as transfer peers with the cloud storage, including Enterprise Server, Connect Server, Connect browser plug-in, Desktop client, Point-to-point, Cargo, Mobile, Outlook Plug-in and Drive.
Full-featured transfer modes
Fully interoperable transfer support for all modes of transfer in these products including command line (CLI), interactive GUI point-and-click, browser, hot folder automation, and SDK automation.
Comprehensive server capabilities
Full support for all Aspera server-side features including secure docroots, Console configuration of BW, security and file handling policies and reporting to Console.
Support for forward and reverse proxy
Transfers to/from cloud environments support Aspera proxy on the client side in forward or reverse mode.
